MONITORING OF ETHANOL DISTILLATION PROCESS USING CONTROL CHART
A Statistical Process Control were applied in the Ethanol pilot plant of Federal University of Santa Maria, monitoring the distillation process of an alcoholic mix of drinks for the production of fuel ethanol. The temperature variables monitoring, using regression control charts allows the monitor of the ethanol hydration percentage. By measuring instruments or control charts generated instantly helps the operator to carry out the control of the steam flow to the reservoir inserted, acting directly on the final product. With this, it is observed that the ethanol produced reaches the desired degree of hydration, taking into account the requirements for use in combustion engines.
