USE OF POLYMER BLENDS AS VECTORING SYSTEM DRUGS FOR HEALING: TECHNOLOGICAL FORECASTING
Abstract
The biopolymers, polymeric materials of natural origin or synthetic, are used for biomedical
applications. Among the universe of applicability relating to polymeric biomaterials, tissue
engineering is presented as a major investor in research that will develop ways to stimulate the
regeneration of skin lesions. The objective of this research was to conduct a survey on the use of
technology polymer blends for healing, performing a search for patent applications in the filings of
domestic and international patents. Prospecting was carried out based on the patent applications
filed in the database of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) of Brazil, the European
Patent Office (EPO), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World
Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). After prospecting was found only in 2004 with the rank
of section C08 (Chemical, Metallurgy) and A61K (Human Needs). To date there are a number of
patents associated with deadpan polymer blends and healing, we analyzed databases, but when
separated these terms take on a significant amount. Thus, it was concluded that there is a lack of
patents and scientific studies on this association, requiring more research on the topic.
