TECHNOLOGICAL PROSPECTION OF BIO-OIL PRODUCTION FROM BIOLOGIA OF CHORELLA VULGARIS BY THE PYROLYSIS PROCESS
Abstract
The need for new energy sources to partially or totally replace non-renewable fuels has drawn the
efforts of scientistis and researchers in search of renewable, biodegradable and competitive energy
alternatives. The potential for fuel production from microalgae has been speculated since the 1950,
which allowed the emergence of th third generation of biofuels. Among the most promising species
for this purpose, Chlorella vulgaris stands out for its strength and versatility. In order to obtain fuel from this biomass, the known pyrolysis process was chosen, which is widely used in cellulose
biomass. For the purpose of analyze the world panorama about the development of technologies in
this area a technological study was carried out based on the production of bio-oil from Chlorella
vulgaris biomass by the pyrolysis process. The results indicate that the refinement of the research
implies les data available within the analyzed platforms. Moreover, the available publications
among patents, theses and scientific articles are still in very small numbers, which can be explained
by the fact that research in this sphere is still very recent. However, growing interest in the area
indicates that future prospects are promising.
