TECHNOLOGICAL PROSPECT: MONITORING REACTION TRANSESTERIFICATION THROUGH ELECTROCHEMICAL METHODS
Abstract
Biodiesel is a renewable resource that needs an efficient quality control of raw materials and product marketing. In this context, monitoring the stages of transesterification is an important issue for the quality control of biodiesel, since some contaminants arise from this reaction, among the contaminants that can affect the quality of biodiesel, stands out the glycerol, as its presence can bring many disadvantages, especially the increase in emission of acrolein, which is a highly toxic to health and the environment. This study aims to search for prior monitoring the transesterification reaction by electrochemical methods for estimation of glycerol. The research was conducted by mapping patents in different databases: INPI (National Institute of Industrial Property), DERWENT (Derwent Innovations Index) EPO (European Patent Office) and WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) It was noted that there are few numbers of patents in the surveyed bases targeted to the proposed theme, which shows that this promising subject for research investments, development and technology appropriation.
