STRATEGIC ANALYSIS OF THE EXTERNALIZATION OF OPERATIONS IN TWO COMPANIES IN THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze aspects and implications of strategically outsourcing processes of operational activities in companies of the furniture industry. The research method was the multiple case studies. Two companies located in the furniture cluster were studied. Data collection was by means of interviews and the analysis of the data was performed so interpretive. The study revealed aspects common to the two companies. The most remarkable were the performance assessment at each delivery, with possible control measures being taken immediately, and the relationship of trust that exists between the purchasing companies and their suppliers. At the end, it was proposed a frame-work for outsourced operations analysis in the furniture industry.
