RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE AND TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION – A CASE STUDY IN A MANUFACTURE OF TAPES
Abstract
Currently, innovation is presented as a strategic element when an organization seeks to maintain and acquire new customers for your products and services. Studies show that organizational culture characteristic can promote or inhibit the generation of innovations. Thus, this study aimed to identify the aspects of the culture of an organizational influencing the generation of product and process innovation in manufacturing adhesive tapes. For the research, we adopted a qualitative approach and case study as a method of procedure. It was observed that factors such as the informal atmosphere existing within the organization, tolerance to error and the emphasis on customer needs, among others, promote innovation. However, it was found that there's a gap between operational level employees and the generation of innovation. Although there ways for the exhibition of ideas that result in product or process innovation, it was noted that the company's expectation regarding the operators work was in compliance with rules and operating performance.
