PROSPECTING OF BIOTECHNOLOGICAL PATENTS WITH ESSENTIAL OIL IN MICROEMULSION AS ANTI-INFLAMMATORY AGENT
Abstract
The pro-inflammatory mediators are released during the inflammatory process, either resident cells of the skin tissue or the transient cells. When the inflammation persists, physiological imbalance may occur with cell damage and loss of function of the tissue/organ. In this sense, the essential oils of the plants in different biomes emerge as phytotherapeutic option. The aim of this study was search patent requests relating to the application of active principles derived from essential oils of medicinal plants carried by microemulsion for the treatment of inflammatory processes. The data found were tabulated individually in order to characterize the technological advancement these patents considering the year of filing, International Patent Classification (IPC) and country of filing. In this sense, the study encourages filling this gap in technological innovation, and a warning for more government incentives aimed at stimulating the sector of science and technology in the country.
