PRODUCTION BIBLIOMETRIC SCIENTIFIC STUDY IN NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SANITATION SECTOR
Abstract
The debate on basic sanitation is fundamental to propose actions of companies and governments which act in this sector. However, it is important that such actions be based on studies that qualify and quantify the context of academic discussions on the topic. This paper aims to map, select and analyze the main characteristics of the national and international scientific production profile in the sanitation area between 1994 and 2015. Therefore, a bibliometric study was conducted taking into account 2,282 scientific articles. After analyzing the contents, 153 papers were selected to compose the bibliographic portfolio of the scientific literature review on sanitation. It was concluded that research on sanitation is essential to see gaps and support new studies.
