PATENTED MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY FOR TROPICAL FRUITS DEHYDRATED
Abstract
Although there is great production, consumption of raw fruits by the Brazilian population does not happen properly the low availability and quality of these throughout the year. In general, due to climatic conditions in some regions of Brazil and numerous problems that occur from the stage of harvesting to marketing to the final consumer, the fruits have high perishability. Most fruits possesses only three months of harvest, it is not possible to find them in times between harvests. Therefore, industrialization presents itself as a practical and simple way to enjoy the fruits produced in excess harvest and make available raw material for the remainder of the year. In this context, this exploration was to identify strengths, characteristics and evolution of technological skills about methods, equipment, and industrial applications dehydration of fruits and vegetables in the period 1943-2010. This survey was conducted from keywords and codes of international patent classification bases Spacenet and PTO. The first patent was identified in 1943 in the United States, which by 2010 had the highest number of patents. Brazil has few patents in this area, showing little technology transfer to industry, and promotion of fundamental importance to improve the innovative scenario.
