PATENT ANALYSIS INVOLVING MORE TOLERANT PLANTS TRANSGENIC TO ABIOTIC STRESS
Abstract
To combat the adverse conditions, to optimize their growth, nutritional and functional food researches have been made used of genetic improvement techniques. In this context, coffee has emerged as a target plant in view of its large consumer market accounting for 2.0% of total brazilian exports in 2012. The abiotic stress is one of the problems routinely faced by products of food especially breakfast. Therefore different sequences of DNA in such a plant has been studied and mapped for coffee production more resilient and better utilization merchandising gene CAHB12 being unprecedentedly clear how this adjuvant in improving the water and salt stress. Through Derwent Innovations Index patent search has developed a strategy mapping technologies related to exploration of gene highlighted as a key point for the control of water and salinity stress of Coffea arabica. It was observed that for the gene in question there is no technology that operates in such a species, but other sequences were identified for the same purpose. It can be through this search tool to observe that the main applicant country for patents related to genetic improvement of coffee is the U.S. and the largest depositor is BASF. Yet another important point you could map nationally leading research groups in the genetic improvement of coffee.
