MORINGA OLEIFERA LAM SEEDS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO BIODIESEL PRODUCTION: REVIEW
Abstract
Moringa oleifera Lam is a plant species originated in northeast India, with diverse applications in
the animal and human feeding, as well as in water treatment. Because being able to get up to 38%
of high quality oil from the seed, it becomes a source promising oilseed for biodiesel production at
a time when there is a growing need for new alternatives to fossil diesel fuel. In this paper, we
provide an overview of the state of the art regarding this topic.
