MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTIC OF HUMAN PAPILLOMAVIRUS (HPV): AN PROSPECT TECHNOLOGY
Abstract
The Human Papilloma Virus are small DNA viruses that have high association with cervical cancer is the second leading cause of cancer in women worldwide, being responsible for 15% of all invasive cancers diagnosed in women. Thus, our study aimed to perform a technological foresight on the molecular diagnosis of the Human Papilloma Virus, mapping national and international patents on this topic. For a technological forecasting both was conducted using systematic methodology in search of patents in order to highlight the work that has been carried out about the virus and its molecular diagnosis in the databases of the National Institute of Industrial Property, the World Intellectual Property Organization, European Bank Patent and Bank of America Patent and Trademark Office. After the search were found just 15 patents in the databases searched, 0 being the INPI, 6 in the EPO, 8 in WIPO and 1 in the USPTO, where some have been filed in more than one database and after removal of the duplicate, it was found full 9 different patents, classified according to the International Patent Classification in C12Q1 / 68, C12Q1 / 70, C07K14 / 00 G01N15 / 14. Of 9, 4 were laid in 2003 and the other in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 and only the United States, the Netherlands and Canada have submitted patent applications. However, it was observed that there is still a small number of patents, requiring a greater interest in the development of research on the molecular diagnosis of the Human Papilloma Virus.
