MEASUREMENT OF TECHNOLOGY IN GASIFICATION THROUGH ANALYSIS OF APPLICATIONS FOR PATENTS AND LITERARY ARTICLES
Abstract
Gasification is a thermochemical process that converts solids, liquids or gaseous inputs into
gaseous with fuel characteristics by partial oxidation under intermediate temperatures. For this
process several methodology and equipments were developed in the last years in view of the
prominent alternative energy gained for the coming decades to substitute fossil fuels. To perform
the search of patents have used the basis of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)
the database of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and the European Patent Office
(Spacenet). For monitoring literary publications we used the CAPES portal of journals, Scopus
indexed databases and Scielo indexed databases. As a result, the basis of patents that had higher
percentages of records was Espacenet, followed by WIPO and finally INPI. The higher numbers of
literary publications are located in Scopus journals followed by CAPES and Scielo databases.
Patents were presented by year of filing, international classification and country of deposit. The
articles were categorized by the number of publications indexed by base, language of publication,
countries and journals.
