Management of Research and Development Assets Based on Innovation Cycles
Faced with the increasing emphasis on innovation management in organizations, it has become essential to understand the processes and cycles linked to innovation. This subject is addressed by international standards, especially by the Spanish AENOR UNE 166000 standards, which are considered of great relevance in the international scene. In Brazil, the ABNT NBR 16509 standard defines the main guidelines for innovation. In this context, this article seeks to summarize the innovation concepts for proposing a model for the implementation of innovation management in the context of organizations. With regard to the research method, we conducted a theoretical-conceptual study to define a process model for the implementation of innovation management. As such, the result of this research is to propose a model that allows innovation management to be actually implemented, improving the processes, products and services offered by companies in order to increase their competitiveness. Based on the production of the conceptual review and the definition of the innovation cycle model, it was therefore possible to observe the major aspects to be considered in innovation management. In this light, it is observed that the correct definition of the processes coupled with an innovation management aligned to the interests of the companies' senior management, turns the implementation of innovation more effective in practice. All of this is in line with the national and international standards and other guidelines for innovation management, enabling companies to acquire theoretical knowledge on the subject, in addition to the ability to apply it in practice.
