Abstract
Business incubators are dynamic innovation habitats that will encourage enterprises, having managerial infrastructure, intellectual and adequate physical, in order to provide the entrepreneur (nascent and growing) initial stability to generate employment and income, impacting positively on the economic and social development in market in which it is inserted. Innovation, enterprise and protect the production technology contributes to economic and social development. Thus, this paper aims to analyze the management of intellectual property generated in the business incubation process (comprising the steps of incubation and graduation) in the incubators of the Brazilian Midwest. With the data obtained in the investigation it was found that the relationship between the number of incubated enterprises (and graduates), and protection of IP assets is still very low in the region. Factors such as lack of knowledge of managers, and little incentive for protection and absence of NIT in University were considered relevant to the context of such scarcity.
