INNOVATION PRACTICES IN E-COMMERCE SECTOR: MULTICASES STUDY IN THE REGION OF SOROCABA/SP
Abstract
Innovation has been treated as an important factor for the competitiveness of organizations. On the
other hand, e-commerce, or traditionally online shop, continually growing in Brazil, and has a
lower legal and physical cost and high annual profitability compared to the physical commercial
way. Thus, starting from a qualitative approach, this research uses a multicases study in
Sorocaba/SP region to explore innovative practices in these companies that contribute to the growth and maintenance of the segment in which they operate. In the three companies surveyed it
was possible to verify that practiced innovations occurred responsively to market opportunities.
Moreover, it is clear that suppliers have an important role to present the news in the market,
although innovation projects in partnership were not evidenced.
