INNOVATION IN BUSINESS PROCESSES: A CASE STUDY IN AGRIBUSINESS
Abstract
Innovation is a requirement for economic growth. It is one of the main ways to gain competitive
advantage. The aim of this study was to investigate and to present experiences of innovations in the
managerial processes, performed by a rice company, showing its results in productivity. This is an
exploratory and descriptive study in a company in the agricultural sector located on a farm in the
city of Itaquí on the western border of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The information was
obtained by visiting the company, interview the owner and by the files of the company. Data were
analyzed using tables, graphs, multiple linear regression and analysis of variance. The study
showed that innovation managerial processes adopted in the company significantly increased productivity. Showed also that the innovation made in the company brought benefits for employees,
their families and the company itself.
