INDICATORS OF INNOVATION: A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN BRAZIL AND OTHER COUNTRIES OF BRICS
Abstract
The study evaluates the current brazilian innovation policy by comparing the innovation indicators in Brazil with the indicators of other countries in the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) in the last five years. The research of quantitative approach, based on reports from the World Economic Forum. After collection the data, it was identified that Brazil presents no indicators in growth compared with the other BRICS, but for the period surveyed, only considering the possible effects of the innovation law on economic outcomes of Brazil, keeping all other economic factors constant, it can be said that the Brazilian innovation policy, in particular the Law of Technological innovation, generates positive results for the country's economy, when compare the competitive index. One of the aims of this paper is to contribute to this study, for a better understanding of the relationships among the BRICs regarding S, T & I and also to a better understanding of the current Brazilian innovation policy.
