IMPLICATIONS OF MANUFACTURING EXECUTION SYSTEMS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF INDUSTRIAL QUALITY
Abstract
This article analyzes the impact of implementing a Manufacturing Execution System - MES from
the perspective of quality management from the case study in a multinational company in Rio Grande do Sul, a provider of solutions for agribusiness. The study initially discussed relevant to the
purpose for literature review concepts. Then interviews was done in three areas of the company and
analysis before versus after implementation of the MES integrated into the company's ERP. The
main results show how critical cultural factors, technological and structural issues in change. As for
benefits, we realized that the MES is an enabler of continuous improvement, which improves the
quality and production controls, seeking to eliminate waste and facilitating decision making.
