IDENTIFYING CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS IN UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY COLLABORATIVE PROJECT: DOMESTIC REFRIGERATION COMPONENT INNOVATION
Abstract
Collaborative projects between universities and industry have been recurring theme in discussions that stress the importance of this interaction for creating innovation, wealth and the development of a nation. In this context, this paper aims to identify critical success factors in a collaborative project between university and industry in a product innovation process. To achieve the objective, datas were collected through semi-structured interviews with project leaders being complemented with the application of questionnaires to members of the project team. The unit of analysis consisted in a collaborative research and development project from a Brazilian university, represented by a research lab and a cooling components manufacturer. The most significant results arising from the study was that, regardless of the importance attributed to each factor, there are considered influential factors for innovation that were not present in the analyzed project. In this sense, it was concluded that analyze these factors are important for effective project management to provide greater support in decision making.
