FOR USE AS ONCOMARKERS KITS FOR BREAST CANCER: AN EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGY
Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common malignancy among women and their mortality rate is still high.
It is essential to develop more sensitive diagnostic tools that not only complement mammography,
but also allow the detection and early diagnosis of breast cancer earlier than is currently possible,
enabling a less invasive, leading to less morbidity in these patients, while it becomes more effective.
This study aimed to perform a technological prospecting kits identification marked oncology for
breast cancer, by verifying the patent databases of the National Institute of Industrial Property
(INPI), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO ), European Bank Patent Office (EPO)
and Bank of America Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). After research it was found that only
34 patents were found in the databases analyzed, classifying it into different classes, whichever
C12Q. However, for the clinical use of cancer markers in breast cancer, considerable investments
are still needed to obtain data from new studies, since cancer is a problem on the rise.
