Biosensor to Babassu Mesocarp (Orbignya phalerata) for the detection of Neurotransmitte: A prospecting Technology
Abstract
The powder's mesocarp (Orbignya phalerata) stands out as food and also due to its properties like
anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, analgesic and antipyretic. Thus, a new proposal is
applicable to the use of this natural resource with a view to the development of technological
products, for example, as sensors for use in the biomedical sciences. Being a natural product, it
proposes a study of this product to develop a biosensor for the detection of neurotransmitters such
as dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. Thus, the objective was to conduct a screening of
research has developed and patented results, analyzing research with keywords: biosensors,
Orbignya phalerata neurotransmitter. Prospecting was carried out at the European Patent Office,
the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the database of the National Institute of Industrial
Property of Brazil and of scientific articles from Scopus. When surveyed combinations Biosensor
AND Neurotransmitte and DNA Biosensor Orbignya phalerata, found no patent, which
characterizes the development of biosensor of babassu mesocarp for this purpose is a very
innovative design. Only the United States and Brazil have scientific publications babassu. Since
these studies are recent, where the first publications dating from 2006.
