Application of Mesenchymal and Renal Stem Cells in Kidney Diseases Tratment- A Exploration Technology
Chronic kidney disease is considered as a public health problem worldwide. In Brazil, the incidence and prevalence of renal failure are increasing; the prognosis is still poor and the disease treatment costs are very high. Thus, a technological prospecting quantitatively analyzing scientific patents and articles in national and international search bases related to the therapeutic use of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) was performed, cells Renais Trunk (CTR) and its benefits in tissue repair in kidney disease. Data collection for the realization of technological prospecting occurred in patent deposit bases, National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), LATIPAT and Espacenet. It was also quantified scientific articles searched in the databases PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science and Scopus. The survey was conducted using the keywords - kidney transplantation; kidney disease; mesenchymal stem cells; renal stem cells; renal progenitor cells. We recorded all requests for deposits of existing patents and scientific articles to the present period of research. It was possible to observe a small number of patents and scientific articles when made the association between the keywords demonstrating that this area is low search index, requiring therefore greater incentive, since the use of mesenchymal stem cells and renal stem cells may represent an alternative adjuvant therapy for the recovery of the renal parenchyma. This study identified the main areas of research of deposit, as well as the growing interest of innovations in this area.
