ANALYSIS OF INTEGRATION OF THEORY OF RESTRICTIONS AND LEAN MANUFACTURING IN SMALL COMPANY CONTEXT
Abstract
The objective of this study was examining the impact of the integrated use of the concepts of the Theory of Constraints (TOC) and Lean on small business in textile industry. Initially was determined the levels of capacity and resource efficiency. After was applied the study of capacity and demand to identify the constraint and adopted the stages of process improvement of TOC integrated with Lean tools to increase the production capacity. Also was implemented the process of capacity and demand in the sector of Planning and Production Control of company, aiming to subordinate all resources to the capacity constraint. The main results of the study helped to highlight the positive aspects of integration between TOC and Lean with allowance analysis of capacity and demand in the context of small business because: i) improved the production scheduling process through the company plans more consistent with the real resource capacities; ii) increased the efficiency index of the bottleneck by minimizing production losses, and; iii) decreased some undesirable effects evidenced in CRT, as non-compliance with revenue goals.
