ANALYSIS OF DELAY TIME ON TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS AT THE AIRPORT SANTA MARIA IN ARACAJU
Abstract
The objective of this study was to test whether there were significant differences, considering a
percentage of 5%, between the average of landings and takeoffs delays of the airlines and identify
which of these airlines presents significant differences between the average delays. To this end,
data were collected on takeoffs and landings from the months of January and April 2012, among
the airlines operating at the Santa Maria’s Airport in Aracaju. An experimental analysis was
performed using the statistical analysis of variance and a multiple comparison test, test Tukey, this
tests were performed by SPSS software. It was noticed that there were significant differences between average delays in both, landings and takeoffs, and it were identified which airlines had
differences between average. The results indicated that the average of delays were higher. Although
January is considered high season and April, low season, the results indicated no differences
between then considering average of delays. Also indicated that the highest average delays on
takeoffs and landings occur in big companies.
